However, you still want to make sure your house is secure on Halloween. It might just take a little bit more effort. The following home safety tips will help ensure the security of your home while trick-or-treating, spending a night out enjoying the festivities, or handing out candy from home.
Keeping your doors and windows locked is a great first step for Halloween Safety Tips! During autumn, it’s tempting to open windows and doors to let some fresh air in. And that’s perfectly fine. However, make sure that you close and lock the door before you go trick-or-treating so that no one unwanted can access your home.
Don’t forget to turn on the lights inside your house before leaving. A well-lit home gives off the impression that someone is inside, which deters burglars.
If you plan on decorating for Halloween, make sure not to obscure the alarm system signs and decals. This way, burglars will be aware that your house is protected and will likely be turned away.
Make sure your alarm system is armed! With multiple convenient ways to arm your system, there is no reason not to. You can arm your system using your Control Panel or using your smart security mobile app.
Halloween home safety requires not to let your guard down if you’re planning to stay at home and give out treats. It’s equally important on trick-or-treat night to remain vigilant and cautious of suspicious activities.
